Easy Tax Refunds UK ("we", "us", "our") takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we keep it safe, and the rights you have over it. It is written in plain English, because privacy policies you can't understand protect nobody.

1. What personal data we collect

• Contact details — your name, phone number, and email address (if provided).
• Employment and tax information — the details shown on your P60 or P45, including your employer, pay, tax paid, National Insurance number, and tax code.
• Correspondence — the messages you exchange with us on WhatsApp or by email.

2. Why we collect it and how it's used

• To check whether you are eligible for a tax refund.
• To prepare and process your refund claim, if you choose to proceed.
• To communicate with you about your check or claim.
• To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not use your data for marketing to third parties, and we never sell your data.

3. How long we keep it and how it's stored

We keep your data only for as long as it is needed to handle your enquiry or claim, and afterwards only for as long as we are legally required to retain records. Your data is stored securely, with access limited to the team members who need it to process your claim.

4. Who we share it with

Your information is shared only where necessary to process your claim — principally with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) when submitting a refund claim on your behalf, and with service providers we use to operate securely (for example, secure data storage). We require any such provider to protect your data to the same standard we do.

5. Your rights and how to request deletion

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), you have the right to:

• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten"), subject to any legal retention requirements.
• Object to or restrict how we process your data.

6. Cookies and analytics

If this website uses analytics or similar technologies, you will be asked for your consent via a cookie banner in line with UK GDPR and PECR. We do not use invasive tracking or advertising cookies.
